As part of the redevelopment of Birmingham New Street Station, Image Technique are the main contractor for all new static and digital signage. The construction is set over four floors, with two shops at concourse level, three shops at ground level and three shops at the lower retail level.The scheme also comprises of the construction of a new John Lewis department store with customer cafe, restaurant and toilets.
The new development includes provision of drop-off and pick-up areas, extension of the public concourse with a reconfigured access lift and ramp along with an extension to the public NCP car park on the roof level.
Working in conjunction with, Network Rail, Mace and designers FRA we completed Phase 1 works providing new directional signage to fit brand guidelines including suspended, projecting, wall mounted information signs and Network Rail individual lettering and manifestations.
Phase 2 is due to complete September 2015, and encompasses Grand Central retail shopping mall, the new NCP car park and the external car park totems and branding.
Having successfully delivered £100k worth of signage under the Phase 1 works, Image are now putting together £380k worth of retail signs for Grand Central retail shopping mall and the Phase 2 information sign for Network Rail. The retail signage includes Grand Central destination signage and branding, with the addition of fully interactive digital totems.
